What We Do

Education

Non-formal Education

The Tahaddi Education Center (TEC) offers non-formal primary education to over 350 out-of-school children, many of whom have missed years of schooling or have dropped out. Tahaddi’s tailored programs accommodate different levels of educational achievement and employ a curriculum that combines traditional academic subjects such as Math, Arabic, English, and Science with extracurricular activities and life skills. A team of educators, social workers, and mental health, speech, and psychomotor therapists work together to holistically address student needs both in the classroom and at home.

Health

Primary Healthcare

The Tahaddi Health Center (THC) is a community-based primary care clinic that provides health services to over 2,000 individuals, offering an average of 10,000 patient consultations per year. A multidisciplinary team provides a wide range of services, including medical care, mental health, and psychosocial support. Consultations are free, while medications and lab exams are provided at the lowest possible cost. The health center is also affiliated with the Ministry of Health through its vaccination program.

Psychosocial Services

Psychosocial Support

Tahaddi launched a Psychosocial Support (PSS) Center in the fall of 2018 as a specialized social service center. It is a space where community members can receive emotional and physical support. A team of case managers, social workers, and psychologists provides holistic psychosocial and case management services to child survivors of abuse, exploitation, violence, or neglect. Mental health support services include individual and group counseling sessions. Emotional support groups are available for parents and children, addressing a range of issues and traumas.

Income Generation

Atelier Tahaddi

Since 2013, Tahaddi has run a sewing program that empowers local women by providing them with practical skills and economic opportunities. This initiative has grown into a daily, income-generating sewing atelier, where women collaborate to craft a variety of products such as blankets, bags, aprons, oven mitts, and potholders.

Beyond skill development, the atelier fosters a supportive community environment, encouraging independence and financial stability for women facing economic hardships.
